[edit] Scenario
Here we assume that you are developing a tool that detects a certain kind of defect in a HPC program, and looking for test data you can use for empirical evaluation of the tool. In this case, you are using the experience base as a "testbed".
As you probably have a concrete idea of the functionality of the tool, the first place to visit is the list of defect defect descriptions.
[edit] Providing feedback
If you have evaluated your tool with the data in the experience base, please consider sharing the results with us. You can always edit the content on HPCSBugBase directly, or you can just contact us so that we can work with you to figure out how to put your input into the experience base.
- If it didn't exist before, please consider creating a new page entry for your tool. We encourage you to include the information on the tool (e.g., functionality, how to obtain it) and the summary of the evaluation results with the data in HPCBugBase, if any. Links to other public website (e.g., a project page for tool development or a product page for a commercial tool) and references, if any, are recommended too.
- We also encourage you to include the links to other entries for defect types, defect descriptions, or defect instances which are related to your tool. By doing so, a visitor to these linked page can know the existence of the tool by using the "backlink".
If necessary, however, you can also edit these entries to have an explicit link to the page for the tool.
